CARE's Peer Educator program provides prevention education to students, organizations, and groups across campus on issues related to interpersonal violence, including consent, rape culture, bystander intervention, how to help a friend, and how to connect with CARE.
CARE Peer Educators' duties include, but are not limited to:
- Serving as a peer educator on issues related to interpersonal violence and facilitate educational workshops aimed to increase students’ knowledge of sexual assault, dating violence, stalking, and CARE services.
- Responsible for designing, planning and implementing research‐informed and evidence‐based prevention education programs for the campus community on topics related to bystander intervention, communicating consent, survivor allyship, rape culture, and social norms.
- Serving as a liaison to student groups, academic departments and other Student Affairs departments, as requested for CARE.
- Serving as a resource to students on CARE’s services and assist with increasing awareness of advocacy services provided by CARE.
- Working closely with supervisors to develop and implement presentations to the campus around issues related to interpersonal violence.
- Working collaboratively with on‐campus departments to schedule and plan programs.
- Assisting with CARE outreach efforts to engage the campus community around interpersonal violence issues
