Feature: Equal Pay Panel & Discussion

equal pay flyer-page-001Feature

Did you know that in 2015, Asian women earned 85%, white women 75%, African American women 63% and Latina women 54% of what their white male counterparts earned? The gap has steadily narrowed since the 1970s, but the pay gap will not go away on its own. At the rate of change between 1960 and 2015, women are not expected to reach pay equity with men until 2059.

Join us to fight back against this inequality by hearing from and asking your questions to successful women in various careers. Prior to the panel there will be a brief presentation of unequal pay in the US and after, a discussion of ways to address unequal pay with both your peers and members of AAUW of Santa Barbara (American Association of University Women)! Free food will be provided and we will be doing a giveaway of portfolios engraved with the UCSB seal!

Additionally, we are offering 15 slots for free, professional headshots the following day (Friday, May 5th) from 11-1pm! These headshots are for LinkedIn profiles, or other professional uses. We will be posting the sign up sheet very soon, so keep an eye out!
